The Butterfly Agave forms a neat patterned, almost symmetrical rosette of fleshy leaves with sharp spines. The colouration of blue, green and grey leaves vary from the base of the plant through to the newer centre leaves.
This Agave will thrive in hot and dry climates. It can be easily replicated in Australian gardens by mixing sand with a good quality potting mix and allowing the plant to dry out between deep watering.
This succulent is extremely drought tolerant and will prefer full sun and needs to be protected from frost in winter.
